My Students’ Brilliant Reviews

How in the world do we write a book review?

Remember, the purpose of book reviews is so others can read what you like or dislike about a book and can decide for themselves if they want to read that book.  You all have different tastes in styles of writing; yet, we appreciate hearing when you find a book that is awesome and when you find a book that bored you to death.

In your review, I expect to read the following things. but it should not sound like the back of the book: (WRITTEN IN COMPLETE SENTENCES!)

  1. What is the title of your book AND the author?
  2. Who are the main characters & briefly describe them?
  3. What is an internal conflict your main character has? (Don’t give away any secrets to the ending please!)
  4. What is an external conflict your main character has? (Don’t give away any secrets to the ending please!)
  5. Why did you like or dislike this author? EXPLAIN, PLEASE.
  6. Why did you like or dislike this book? EXPLAIN, PLEASE.
  7. Rate this book from 1-3 with 1 being you loved it beyond belief, 2 being it was okay, and 3 being burn it.  EXPLAIN your rating.
  8. Check over your spelling and grammar before you hit send!
